Shake off the Sugar Coma and Celebrate National Brush Day

Posted on by Jen McGuire | Category Marketing, Total Health

National Brush Day is celebrated November 1st, the day after Halloween, to reinforce the importance of oral health and promote brushing habits. While kids may still be plowing through their bag of goodies, parents are encouraged to make sure they brush their teeth for two minutes, twice a day, to limit the effects of sugar consumption on the teeth.

Participating in these types of oral-health related holidays provides an opportunity for dental providers to connect with patients outside of their regularly scheduled appointments. Promote National Brush Day on social media or in your patient newsletter. Offer prizes or incentives to patients who post their brushing photos on your facebook page. Create contests that celebrate oral health. Offer a special discount on power brushes.  The marketing opportunities are endless; just keep your communications simple and fun.

Mark your calendar now so you can plan for these additional upcoming oral health events.

February: National Children’s Dental Health Month

April: Oral Cancer Month

October: National Dental Hygiene Month

You can help raise community awareness of the importance of oral health and regular dental visits year round by participating in the 2MIN2X Ad Council Campaign. Share these free ads and other resources. For more help educating patients about the importance of oral health, check out Total Health.
